Religious society set standards
So/high/that/we
fill ourselves with anxiety
trying to maintain an appearance of piety
in front of fellow Christians who privately
struggle with a variety
of other vices.
Sometimes this mask gets heavy when I’m
tired of pretending
I just didn’t have thoughts of
bending
her over and...
Weary from the guilt that sets in from being a fallen man.
It’s so frustrating trying to live a good life.
The Bible says the husband of one wife,
a man that’s slow to anger and strife.
You know the kind of man that can die to sin daily.
I’m tired.
